Thank you so much for choosing Grace Photography! I look forward to meeting you and your family and creating beautiful images that truly capture their spirit.
{the grace photography experience}
I start each session getting acquainted with your child and discussing with you what we are hoping to get out of our session. My style lends itself to less posed, more relaxed images, so plan on thinking outside of the box when it comes to the session – and trust me!
RELAX – Really mom and dad! Don’t worry about what is going on, just sit back and let us do our thing. We may even have to go and hide from you just to get the shots we want. Don’t worry, if your little one gets anxious, I’ll bring them back in sight ASAP. Kids just seem to have a way of loosening up when mom and dad are not in sight, and that is how we get the images *you* want! Someone feeling a bit crabby? No worries, mommy breaks are free and welcome at any time!
Be sure everyone is well fed and ready to go (potty breaks included!) before we start and have some snacks and water handy (nothing that will stain of course!) in case we work up an appetite. This picture taking thing can be hard work for a kid!

{IN HOME SESSIONS}
Working primarily with natural light means that when I arrive at your home I will take a quick tour of the house (yes all the rooms!) to find the best light for shooting. Natural light just gives such a ‘real’ feel to images, and I do my best to use it exclusively at all my sessions.
For newborn sessions, be sure to turn up the heat before I arrive. Many of the newborn images I create are done with baby undressed, and the warmer the room is, the more comfortable they are. Sleeping ‘poses’ are also popular for newborn sessions, so plan on spending some extra time getting the perfect first shots of your new bundle.
You may want to focus our session around something you and your family enjoying doing in everyday life – playing in the yard, cooking in the kitchen, pillow fights in bed – remember, this session is about capturing your family…just how they really are! Have fun with it and break out of the box.

{OUTDOOR SESSIONS}
There are a great number of outdoor locations in the local area that we can use for our session. However, I also love traveling to those places that are most special to you – so any suggestions are more than welcome. When we arrive for our session I will be evaluating which areas have the best light. Lighting is the most important factor in creating stunning images, so while a certain area may have a ‘backdrop’ that you love, if the lighting is poor it is best not to use it.
While the focus of my images is *always* on the child, it can be fun to include those things that really defined who they are at this moment. Favorite lovies, toys, wagons or trikes can be fun things to bring to your session. For babies, please bring blankets, hats and any other little accessory that will make your session special and unique. We may not always have a chance to use everything, but having options is good! Please remember that many outdoor locations do not have bathroom facilities readily available. Also, have some snacks and water handy, as well as bug spray, brushes or anything else that you may need.
{last note}
I strive to make sure that everyone gets something out of our session - including the kids. You get great images, I get to do the work I love, and kids…well they get to have FUN!
